At Shaftsbury Alpacas breeding for fineness of fiber, confirmation, temperament and color is the goal. To achieve this there is considerate planning of matching the girls with the perfect stud.
Located at the border of VT and NY on Route 67, in the southwestern corner of Vermont. Quite literally, as soon as you see the sign that welcomes you to Vermont, look to your left and you will see the signs that welcomes you to Shaftsbury Alpacas, also home of the Alpaca Shack.
Minutes from the Bennington Battlefield and less than 15 minutes from downtown Bennington, Vermont.
Offering a free and relaxed tour of the farm and facilities in the serene hills of the Green Mountains. With magnificent views everywhere you look, it is easy to see why I fell in love with this land. Everyday is picture postcard perfect.

- Just want a finished product? Check out The Alpaca Shack which carries a variety of alpaca products like throws, blankets, socks, outerwear, a beautiful assortment of sweaters, teddy bears and friends and of course rovings and skeins.
- Planning to one day be an alpaca farmer/breeder and making the rounds to farms to educate yourself (which is essential and one of the best ways to gaining knowledge). I am more than pleased to answer all your questions. I have learned much from other breeders as well as from my own experiences and I look forward to sharing this knowledge with you.

For a small fee visitors are welcome to meet the alpacas up close & personal. All proceeds go to the care of the herd. For all weekday visits, please call for an appointment.
